Seafarers is a great addition to Catan. It adds 9 new game play options, each with a slightly different board setup and rules. The 9th scenario allows you to build your own world, while following a few simple instructions or create it all on your own. While 2 people can play, it’s much more fun with 3 or more.
From what I researched before buying the Seafarers expansion, this is easier to learn than some other expansion sets and a big favorite of Catan lovers.
As always, the instructions are pretty clear and have images and examples, but watching a couple of YouTube videos showing set up and game play can make it much easier to get started.
Don’t forget that this is an expansion set and you need the original Catan board game in addition to Seafarers. This is for up to 4 players, there are extension sets for 5-6 players that you can get separately.
Catan is a family favorite, whenever we get together. Playing Seafarers has added so many fun options.
